Tradition Senior Living Customer Success Story

The client was a senior living facility looking for electrical reliability in an area along the Gulf Coast that is vulnerable to extreme weather events.
The client wanted a full-facility backup power system that would execute seamlessly during power outages, as opposed to partial power that only provides critical emergency function. This would allow them to continue to provide the same level of comfort and safety their residents are accustomed to and give them the ability to shelter in place in the event of weather-related emergencies.

Project Description
The senior care facility is located along the hurricane-prone gulf coast in Houston, Texas. Houston has been subject to many catastrophic weather events in the last few years, in addition to hurricanes. This site required power that would be used to provide life safety to residents in the event of any weather-related emergency.
Enchanted Rock provided electrical backup service for the entire campus. Through their Resiliency-as-a-Service option, this campus will be able to operate normally during power outages and prevent the need for dangerous evacuations of the elderly residents. The backup power solution will supply the entire facility with full power, ranging from HVAC to being able to turn on their closet lights, preventing any disruption to their day-to-day life.
Enchanted Rock will provide full backup for one of the Houston locations. The system will be operated and maintained by Enchanted Rock for the life of the agreement, relieving the client of any O&M responsibility. This will allow them to focus on their core business – the well-being of its residents.
The initial project took 10 months from deal close to COD.
The solution matches diesel generators in performance and footprint, while offering greater reliability with N+1 redundancy, a secure underground natural gas supply and a significantly cleaner, quieter operation.

Manufacturing Plant

A rare-earth materials processing company, that runs a critical operation requiring backup power, wanted a cleaner solution with a compact footprint to their space-constrained generator yard.

Citizens Medical Center

Citizens Medical Center is an independent community-based hospital dedicated to improving the health and wellness of South Texas. During Hurricane Harvey, the center lost water and electricity that prevented even critical applications from functioning and required them to evacuate patients to a safer location, resulting in a $6M loss of revenue for the hospital. Enchanted Rock’s Resiliency-as-a-Service solution provided the hospital with the most reliable form of backup power without a high capital cost.

Retirement Community

The retirement community has full facility backup power and is no longer at risk of having to evacuate residents due to a power outage. Prolonged power outages caused by hurricanes and floods previously required residents to evacuate, causing both mental and financial stress to the community. Enchanted Rock’s system allows them to continue their daily operations without disruption, which is a major benefit to their residents.

Texas Grocery and Distribution Chain

A major Texas grocery and distribution retailer needed to have full electrical reliability and ensure they could remain open to provide critical service to the community during major and minor power outages.
